Flip it and see what happens. It isn't going to damage anything and whatever orientation makes the battery light go off is the correct one.

I have a factory front skid plate, factory transfer case skid plate, and the plastic splash guard. The plastic guard is missing one of the mounting wings. Can take some pics if you are interested. I'm up in Salt Lake City but am planning to drive down to Phoenix for Thanksgiving. Its 2 months...

I strongly 2nd this. Just did my lower ball joints and didn't remove the boots. It really sucks to have to go buy new replacement boots for the brand new ball joints. The tears in mine were small and right at the corner of the shoulder that the top of the boot goes over. I'm just glad I noticed...
