My 1958 came with 245/70R18 Yokohama Geolandar X-CVs. Most people are moving up to 265/70 or larger. Looking around, most 265/70 tires work no problem with plenty of folks pushing it to 275/70 without mods. I think 285/70 is where it starts to get "iffy" with rubbing etc.

I agree they are probably overpriced... Toyata has to see that most people who are not Toyota loyal are already out there driving new Broncos, and those start stripped-down at like $42k. And Toyota has a bunch of Land Cruisers taking 45+ days to sell. They also have the 4 Runner about to start...
