Having a problem with the front passenger indicator on my hj75. The vehicle has been off the road for a couple of months fixing rust, reattached everything today and discovered the passenger indicator no longer works. Tried obvious things like replace bulbs, even swapped the whole light housing...

Turned out to be the wire just below the fusible link. Auto electrician replaced 30cm of wire that had been turned to carbon. Suprisingly nothing happened to the link itself.

Had to work out why I could possibly need my electronic work diary, but once I figured that one out, unfortunately still no luck! The lights work when connected directly to the battery via the positive terminal only. Couldn't find anything wrong with any ground cables either. Off to the auto...

My alternator died yesterday, and during the replacement I accidentally left off the insulator from the regulator. Didn't notice it until I went to connect the positive power back to the battery, at which point quite a bit of smoke poured out from the wiring I was holding. Disconnected it and...

What other parts are there? The only other parts involved are the gearbox and the instrument cluster in the dash unless I'm missing something. I just want to do away with the mechanical cable if possible.

I've replaced the cable itself several times over the years which is part of the annoyance.

Might be a long shot but is there a some sort of aftermarket electronic speedo cable/sender for the HJ75? The physical cable has always resulted in a jumpy speedo which drives me mad and I'm a bit over having to replace it when it finally gives up and breaks.
