Gillette diesel in Bluffdale rebuilt injectors for me on my '93 HDJ81. I pulled the parts myself and brought them in. They do pumps and are very familiar with the Bosche VE style pumps.

The big advantage of having the plate/SST is that you save a lot of time in disassembly/assembly. The plate "tool" is thin enough to fit in between your front steering damper/support, and brace against the frame rails on either side.

I went out and bought a 20v dewalt impact. Zipped it off like nothing. Had to rip the whole front apart though.
Machine shop is making me a special tool out of 1/2" steel. It will go over the balancer and connect to all 6 (or 4 for 1HDFT) bolts. Super beefy.
On a side note.... any of you 80 series folks. I need to turn up a factory non-EGR 1HDFT crossover pipe.
I'm sure someone has ripped one off for an intercooler. I tried classifieds but haven't had much luck

Interesting enough, the "Gregory's" aussie manual says to jam a prybar into the inspection port to stop up your flywheel ring gears.

So, my first timing wrestling with the 1HD-T crankshaft pulley / harmonic balancer bolt. It's kicking my ass.
I tried bumping the starter; disconnect fuel cutoff solenoid, long breaker bar. Starter doesn't have the guts to break it lose.
I then proceeded to snap my SST #09330-00021 in half...
I am glad it went to a good home. Sad to see it go.
My toyota "problem" has reached uncurable levels now. Currently there are two HDJ81s and an HDJ80 at the house in various stages of modification.

Planning to use with OTC 5021 compression gauge. Just need to buy an adapter for the snap fitting. Easy.

Oil consumption
Exhaust smoke
Starting issues/low compression symptoms
Have you checked valve clearances? Is there also blow-by from your oil dipstick tube? Compression test results?
