Sorry for the hijack here. There is a photo place in town, really nice talkative owner/guy. He purchased a professional photo developer / processor in the mid-90s. He said that he has been making prints with it, and the print making that he has been doing is exclusively digital. As a side...
I wonder how much damage one does to a harness when it is shorted out between alternator B+ ring terminal and the engine hook or whatever, using a wrench for something. The short at that place in the harness is a long stretch of wire from the battery +. As a side note, I managed to get that...
I heard that the F and 2F was based on a "stroker" 6 (meaning "undersquare" engine displacement - longer dimension of crank stroke than cylinder diameter) for a GMC vehicle. The Chevy "stovebolt" and 250 straight-6 is more of a modified SBC than it is an F or 2F as far as its "DNA."
I bet that...
I did it recently, but, my 2F uses a non-clutch water pump. Just silly as far as adequate room - use a soft handle socket wrench to avoid damage to radiator. I threaded an all-thread stud (not too long) or two where the screws were removed - just to keep the fan pulley lined-up on the water...
If I charge my phone and use it as a radio, I can hear the ignition when the distributor is spinning. If I count it out really fast, I can figure out which plug is misfiring / needs cleaning, lol.
A bad evap system causes a trombone/ Doppler effect when I park in the sun (the tank is in a hot...
How hard is the engine to turn with a wrench on the crank?
The body seam bleeding rust on to the paint is cleaned up with a moist cloth and dry baking soda. If you were to use an acid type rust remover, expect more bleed later, as the acid primes the iron for oxidation. Everything that I've...
This reminds me of so much of life's stuff. I absolutely hated it at first, then it is like, well, I'd take one in 622 Nebula Green, and it would go great next to an anything J60... In a year, I'd be busy ordering a second one before they are gone.
My guess is that when the engine is spinning on its own, that the rust in the cylinder walls will contribute to some burnt oil. Honing will help you achieve proper oiling, but, not removal of rust pits.
I'm quite conservative in approach, change as little as needed to get to FSM specs, and...
It looks like the jump seats from a Tacoma? Obviously, time could have been better spent on their lunch hour than messing around with body filler. That sinking feeling to realize that it is a "custom" - isn't an original 40ish, and it is not a 70-something non-USA Cruiser. But, I appreciate...
Without knowing the year. My guess is that a LR wire is run to the transmission reverse switch, but, a R was intended in the FSM? However, both my '72 J30 and my 75 H42s have RL wiring on both sides of the switch. Two RL wires for the switch (one going, one from), and a RL wire going your...
