I've got an XTOOL D7.. so far I don't hate it. Bidirectional for the in-depth stuff, gives me my AHC pressures, etc. But about $300 I think. Used to have an Autel something for ~$100 and it did a fine job
I run whatever fuse protects the wire. So if I know I'm going to run 30A through one of the circuits and know that you'll run a 35 or 40A fuse, I'd plan my wiring to be rated for the 40 + some safety margin. Probably wild overkill, but thats just what I learned in my E&M classes/here on forums...
Unfortunately for me, it limp mode'd my truck with no warning in the middle of nowhere years back. Cheap part, takes up no space, I'll continue dragging one with me in future lol.
Just some ideas:
For electrical, have a spare coil pack, mass airflow sensor, scan tool, fuses, spark plugs, test light. Also, duct tape, baling wire, some cooling and fuel rated hose of various diameters, clamps.
Lots more in the back of my truck if you want to go overkill, but you’ll...
I actually haven’t used left handed bits. But if you’re worried about those ones, I’ll just plug the heat route one more time, does a lot of work for you.
Let us know how it works out, we’ll be here for tapping intel if needed lol
I just kinda eyeball, “what size can I do that would let me do one more size larger if it doesn’t immediately work” if that makes any sense. Feel like after two attempts with extractors, it’s probably just gonna require more than an extractor. You could probably apply that same logic to an...
Exactly. At least that’s my process and I’m probably batting 0.700 on success rate lol. If you pick up a benzomatic torch though, go straight to the MAP gas.. burns a little hotter than whatever is in the blue bottle
A lot of heat, let it cool, smack it a couple times by way of a brass punch, then try a splined extractor. If that doesn’t work, might be a drill and tap job man. Someone will probably have a better method, but I’m a simpleton.
Edit: link Multi-Spline Screw Extractor Set, 15-Piece -...
I should be clear on my end. My client shows me oscillating between 0 and 16kB/s though, strange. Will continue troubleshooting on my end
Edit: Toggled a couple settings and I'm at least up to 700kB/s, so looks like patience will be the name of the game... fun remembering the days of torrenting...
Good call, I have it offset about a centimeter or so from the furthest rearward edge of those tabs for the insert that got removed. Hopefully enough for now, but as of yet, my run to the grocery store yesterday wasn't exactly a thorough shake-down lol. Thanks again!
Thanks for the documentation. Got some thrown in mine. They look a little off center from the front but they’re angled slightly outward, witness perfectly with the cutout and no wasted light trapped behind the bumper or anything. Maybe it’s just my mongoloidal hands, but kind of a finicky job...
