Recently had some work done to my 78 Prado by Peter Merriam of Merriam Automotive. A plus service - Did not overcharge, was honest and an overall great guy. Will definitely use him in the future. Hes a Landcruiser EXPERT if there ever was one.

That was what some counties were cracking down on - the short VIN was making them ask questions.

Definitely seems that way but did read on Reddit that a few people were denied in certain counties. Never know if thats the truth though. I live in Henry County and they didn't say a word. She did ask what kind of automobile it was and that was it.

I know - def need to keep these classics on the road legally.

Was able to get a tag and changed over title. Nothing was even said from tag office.

Filled out paperwork online - headed to Henry County Tag Office this morning, will update after.

Quick question - havent dug into anything yet but took rear passenger side door panel off to replace door check assembly. When putting back together rear passenger side door lock isnt working with drivers side lock/unlock button or key in the door. Was working fine before removing door panel...

Yeah ill know this week - but this came about as the state of GA has banned all Kei trucks from being registered but ive read theyve denied some JDM owners registration because of this. It only came about maybe a year ago i believe.

Thats going to be my first move, but Im trying to get ahead in case thats not feasible. Per GA DMV i will have to get an inspection and a form T-22B filled out and signed by a law enforcement officer. Asks on the form whether or not the vehicle has the NHTSA sticker certifying the vehicle...

Im not positive that I cant just do a typical transfer but the wording on the GA DMV website says “despite the 25 yr exemption rule, the automobile still must meet FMVSS to be registered and titled in the State of GA” I will need to have it inspected but theres no sticker anywhere declaring...

Recently purchased a 70 series Prado from someone in Florida, has a Florida title. I am in Georgia. Havent even tried to go to the DMV to register and apply for a tag. From reading online, it doesnt appear that Im going to be able to register or get a tag in the state of GA due to the FMVSS...

Thank you for that link. Mine is a 12V - my key fob looks different but could be older version. Also my door locks went haywire this morning like they wanted to lock and unlock - its weird. The key fob appears to be giving a signal as it lights up blue when its pressed. Other than that im kinda...
