    Timing belt help, cam phase?

Oh gotcha, so I had that backwards. So then why is everyone so concerned with not moving the cams while doing the TB? If they move just line them back up.

    Timing belt help, cam phase?

I rotated the engine by hand a couple revolutions, didn’t feel any binding or issues in the valve train. Cranked it with the starter real quick, all good again. Fired up just fine. The cams rotate twice for every crank revolution so with one being off I had a 50/50 shot of it being out of...

    Timing belt help, cam phase?

I rotated it 😬 I have it back together. Belt is all lined up. Made two crank rotations, everything seems good.

    Timing belt help, cam phase?

Crank didn’t move. It’s lined up but the cam rotates twice for each crank rotation so it could be out of phase.

    Timing belt help, cam phase?

Went to put the belt on, one cam gear jumped. Tried to turn it a couple times to get it lined back up, jumped some more. I can get it lined up, and I can hold it in place or be more careful about bumping it. But how do I know it’s in the right phase?

    Timing belt help.

My cams stayed lined up until I torqued the gears back on. I guess I should have done that after I got the belt back on. I lost track of the position, how can I make sure they’re in phase with the crank?

Options for nav "work around" instead of delete

First post, just picked up a 2004 LX470, it's been a blast to drive. Searching and finding so much great information here, I know I'll keep it a long time with this wealth of information. I've read about the "Tesla" display, the nav delete, the non-nav swap and adapting bluetooth. I even think I...
