Thanks for all the feedback / guidance. Used a mechanical gauge and have 50 lbs at idle and 62 lbs at 4,000 RPM. Expect it will get lower as engine brake-iin.

I had original engine rebuilt on my 71 FJ40 and oil pressure is HIGH right when you crank it over. I had it into Toyota mechanic today and he's looking into it. I read some comments that it could be the gauge or sending unit (wired incorrectly). Any ideas?

Professional mechanic incorrectly installed Electronic Ignition (did not seat fully into oil pump) and the engine on my 71 JF40 is seized. I'm looking for a good rebuilt engine. I'll pay for shipping or pickup with flatbed truck if within driving distance (I'm located in Iowa).
Actually, he discovered it wasn't fully seated once I had it towed back in and he had to diagnose the non-cranking engine. The detailed (very detailed) instructions clearly (in all CAPS and BOLD letters) said to ensure it was fully seated and to double check to ensure the oil pump was engaged...
