    Low range 4,7 gear questions

Thanks for clarifying and also pointing out the correct ratio. I’ll see if I can change my first post so it doesn’t confuse anyone else!🙏

    Low range 4,7 gear questions

Didn’t see your post until now but great info and thanks for sharing your experience. Seems like 4,7 is better in theory than in practice. I’ll stick with the 2.88 for now and see later on what I will do with gearing. There are plenty of areas that can be covered before that anyway:)

    Low range 4,7 gear questions

That’s why im asking, i don’t understand the difference between rations and torque advantage. I did have a feeling it wouldnt be all benefits lowering the underdrive. Can you explain the difference or Link me to an article? Appreciate the help!🙏

    Low range 4,7 gear questions

Thanks for your input! If I haven’t calculated or thought about it wrong 4,7 gears offer a wider range of gears and less overlapping with “high” gears. I would have 1st low really low and if 5th low is to slow I’ll just put it in 1st or 2nd high. seems good in theory at least to me. Question...

    Low range 4,7 gear questions

Hi! Im entertaining the idea of swapping my standard 2.88:1 gears in my transfercase to lower range 4,7:1 gears. When doing the math it seems like the original low range overlaps 1st gear high when in 3:d gear low. If changing to 4,7 gears all low range gears are below 1st gear high (except for...

    Camber/Caster maxed out?

I really appreciate your input Gnob. My plan is to measure rear axle against frame (ideal would be to cross-measure against rear camber bolts but its not really a straight path). Pull axle in desired direction, torque it down. Then swap out LCA bushings and camberbolt to new ones to fain full...

    Camber/Caster maxed out?

And he said rear passenger springs back (probably rusted stuck to bolt) so he tried to match the angels as well as he could given that, combined with rear axle angle.

    Camber/Caster maxed out?

Ok here comes the pics of the cambolts, all taken from behind. Driver rear, driver front, passenger rear, passenger front. The alignment shop said the rear axle would have to come forward driver and rearward passenger. See if you can make sense of it!🙏

    Camber/Caster maxed out?

Hi! First thread hoping for some nice input on my wheel alignment questions. 1990 Hilux ifs xcab I was at the alignment shop after installing new tough dog torsionbars, shocks and leaf springs (2" lift but removed a leaf to get it more level). He had a hard time getting correct caster and whats...
