The sticker is probably still there, but my starter is so covered in grease and dirt that I am not sure where to look. Someone said look from the driver's side bur I can barely see it from the driver's side, both from the top and underneath. I guess I'll hit it with a can of brake cleaner and...
Thanks guys. I think having a Toyota reman would be great too, and I can shelf my current one and then have an extra that I can rebuild if I want to.
The Toyota brand reman starter is still available, but there are multiple different part numbers. Is this just related to the different versions...
Hey all,
I know this has probably been covered on here before so I truly apologize in advance, but I just want to make sure I'm approaching this the right way.
My 91 (now with 274k miles) has had intermittent starting issues going back to about 2021. I've always been able to fix it by having...
I think I will sand and paint it. Just making sure it doesn't need replacing. It's not greasable, which is why I'm worried about seeing grease come out of it.
Hi all,
I just had the drag link end replaced on my FJ80 by a mechanic. It's a 555 part so should be good quality. They didnt paint anything so it's already rusty which bugs me (I'm particular) but I'm also already seeing grease coming out of it. Is this something I should have them look...

Would if I had time. Between work and school, I only DIY stuff that would cost me a lot. It's my only car and daily driver. Steering gearbox rebuild by myself coming soon.
Here's a little laugh for your Tuesday afternoon. Heard mixed reviews about State Automotive in Midvale, Utah, who are supposedly Land Cruiser specialists. Wanted to schedule valve adjustment with them.
And this was after I mentioned the original high price of $1340 and sent over the service...
90431-18021 is great. Worked on t case and diff. Went to the dealership to get them (mistake) and they gave me the washers used on the t case and diff (they are, in fact, different.) I have the part #s for them if someone needs but I don't know which is which.
I'm about to weld a nut to my transfer case drain plug on my 91. Will need a new one after. Had this happen with the front diff a little while back and mechanics replaced the plug but even that new one seems stuck now too. In a thread about getting these bolts unstuck, someone recommended...
