I wrapped mine too and it's not bulky at all -- If I got another 2008 200 today, I'd order the wrap asap even if wheel was in perfect condition.

No, as others have said, loosen nut and a couple jerks and it's loose. I suggest you do a test drive before you fully assemble the wheel, I marked mine and it was still off a spline. I did a test drive to make sure and glad I did.

Post some pics of the back of the DVD unit and plugs - maybe there is a module attached. I removed mine and don't remember having an issue with lights or sound.
