New stereo head unit blowing cig lighter fuse

Don’t think I have a factory amp. Used a tetra harness. Wondering if I need to completely insulate it electrically and run a separate ground to the battery. That’s a real pita.

New stereo head unit blowing cig lighter fuse

Hi folks, Just installed a new head unit in my jdm 80. Works get but blows the cig lighter fuse. Also the blower fan motor hasn’t worked since I installed it. Just pulled it back out and noticed it says +12V to ground on the head unit. Can’t imagine this is not relevant. Anyway, has anyone...

    Gt2052 questions

Hi all, I recently picked up a gt2052S, with hopes of waking up my 3B. I should have researched it a bit more first, as I got one off a 2000 LR Defender TD5. My question is about the turbine housing. The exhaust side flange is part of the casting and cannot be be turned. Also, the inlet to...

    1990 HDJ81 glow plug voltage

Checked again this morning. The glow light only flashes for about a 1/4 second. The voltage drops immediately after the light goes out. Doesn’t engage long enough to know what it is, but drops to 6.5 volts to ground. Swapped a spare timer relay, same thing…

    1990 HDJ81 glow plug voltage

I would have to check with the supplier I bought them from. I replaced them when I did the head gasket last year. I trust both the parts guys and mechanic not to install the wrong parts. Just seems weird to me that it would be 7.5 volts to the glow plugs.

    1990 HDJ81 glow plug voltage

Good day, Troubleshooting the glow plug circuit in my truck. And I only have 7.5 volts being delivered to the glow plugs. I have unfortunately misplaced my FSM. But part of me is assuming I should be getting 12 volts. Is that correct? And would the likely culprit of the voltage drop be the...

    Electrical issues 1990 HDT 81

I didn’t check the engine ground yet. And the windows work like $hit. Especially in the cold. I check from the fuse/relay panel to the battery and there was a voltage drop. I took the truck to a shop as I had to leave town and it’s cold out. They didn’t have any luck so I’m back to square one...

    Electrical issues 1990 HDT 81

So I’ve been loosing electrical function on my 80. the first indicator was the head lights. I thought it was the relay, but looks like a voltage drop off the fuse/relay panel. then I noticed the glow plugs/fuel heater isn’t working. Nor are the dash lights or rear window defrost. has anyone...
