SOLD  [PA] FJ40 carburetor, glove box door, misc small parts

See photos below. Some misc parts left over from my recently sold JF40.I don't know anything about the carb. It came with the '72 I briefly owned, and the only marking I could see was the raised "180" (see photos). I'd prefer to sell all these as a single lot. Asking $100 for everything...

Yep, and also listed here on mud and Craigslist. I'm retired and my hobby is buying and restoring classic cars. Some cars I keep longer than other. I've only got room for 5 cars, and with a new (old) one coming soon the FJ had to go.

    New FJ40 owner with questions

After a couple months on vacation (did I mention I'm retired :) ) I finally got around to finishing the 40 - see pics below. Not much mechanical work required beyond the new brake master cylinder, and new shoes for the rear drum brakes. A fair amount of welding to fix rust, and a new bumper &...

'73 FJ40 - can it be started with the instrument cluster removed?

I reconnected the cluster and it turns over fine -- it appears that the amp gauge connection is part of the ignition circuit.

'73 FJ40 - can it be started with the instrument cluster removed?

I'm in the process of stripping down my '73 FJ40 for some body work and a full re-spray. After pulling the cluster, I tried to start it but no crank, not even a click from the starter. Are connections with the instrument cluster part of the continuity for the ignition switch? FYI: I...

    New FJ40 owner with questions

I met one member (Gary aka shmukster) yesterday when I bought a FJ40 hood from him. I'm hoping to make it up for one of the group events later this summer.

That's a good suggestion. One of this project's few mechanical problems is a leaky master cylinder - the spots where it has leaks are free of all bedliner.

May not be obvious from the photo but there are many small holes, especially where the gas tank was. Driver's side is better - I might patch it. Everyone has their favorite rust remedy. Personally, I like to prime with Rust-oleum Rust Reformer and then coat with POR-15.

    New FJ40 owner with questions

Got started in earnest with work on the 40 this week. Looks like I'll be ordering new floor pans and rocker panels. As I mentioned in a previous post, I'll be picking up a better used hood from a member of Keystone Cruisers group - an old bondo repair to the hood is flaking off, and I'd rather...

    New FJ40 owner with questions

Joe - thanks for the link to the Keystone clubhouse. I'm heading up I-81 to pick up a hood from shmukster. I'm also making a stop in my hometown of Shamokin to pick up a bumper from Affordable Offroad (Dan Billig) - he fabricates & sells custom bumpers for LCs and other off-roaders through both...
