Resurrecting this thread - I recently put Sta-Lube GL-4 in my '82 ROW gear box - I don't know what the previous owner used, but he wasn't particularly diligent about regular maintenance.... the shifting got a bit worse... more notchy and less smooth.
Other recommendations that have worked...
This is interesting... how does one check brake booster function to ensure no valve burnout? (I presume they just burn out because a bad booster leaks air to the intake side, causes the mixture to go lean and get too hot)....
Interesting. It has what looks like a 3 piece design, but it's a South America car, no emissions, etc. I don't even have a flapper in mine. It's just the manifold going to the exhaust pipe, nothing more complicated than this.

New to posting on this forum, been watching for some time. I have a '82 ROW FJ40 with some issues on the intake and exhaust manifold. I've got them off the rig and separated them. I am looking for the metal insulator that goes between the stock exhaust and intake manifold - no luck. Any...
