@imperium and @Pulgasari - It looks as though I will be headed out on the 10th. Are you folks headed to the Overnight run, or just headed straight to Silverton? What route are you folks taking and do you have campsites planned along the route?
I am, admittedly, behind on my logistics planning.
After the online raffle a couple nights ago, and some of the comments about dust and heat in the sun... I reserved the tent platform in the same area (platform 7). Still bringing the trailer... but now shade is an option.
I am headed to Cruisers on the Rockies. I am also registered for the Overnight Run with them that starts on Sunday. Last summer... it was 3 days of hard driving to get there, so I will likely be leaving either Wednesday or Thursday before.
I am pretty sure that hole has done something to my truck as well on that new years day trip. There is a noise that 2 separate mechanics can not diagnose now... and I am fairly certain whatever I damaged, was done following the sage advice "when in doubt, throttle out" while traversing that...
You folks rock! I had not even thought about the "just get it out however you can and fix the tire later" approach. I have the tire patch kit already... so good there. And I will pick up an adapter and keep it as part of my recovery kit. I will not retrofit the trailer with new wheels and...
So... as an update from the last thread, the trailer is registered and is parked on the street. Unfortunately, I get to play musical trailer every two weeks, but... here we are.
Next question: As many of you know, I am not mechanically inclined... so if the stupidity of this question is too...
@prharper and @CrabCake - I will be headed down there... I will have both the 13yo boy and 11yo warrior princess with me. The wife won't be able to make it. our plan was to just camp. Trying to keep cost down as we are headed to Cruisers on the Rockies again this year.
So... the update. I had a hearing with the board. I tried to be reasonable with them. I was trying to explore potential mutually satisfying solutions... and they essentially told me to pound sand. So, I have a friend in Reston who can store the trailer in his driveway for a month. In that...
I am straight camping. I registered the family as well... so bringing the trailer with me. There is a possibility that a buddy with a Rivian might join us.
Cruise MOAB Waitlisted. Shame, I have a wedding out in Sedona the Sunday before that would have been the perfect excuse to drive out and stay for a week.

I am definitely down for a few others. I have found a couple friends that were...
