    FJ40 - Baby Found a New Home

Boy child and his fiancé are excited about their new FJ40. Have been driving it around, and having a great time. When he was little, I taught him that tops come off May 1st, and go back on Oct 1st. He took it to heart!! Pretty good looking, and he already swapped the grill for the one I gave...

Aux Tank: troubleshooting intermittent fuel flow

On my recent FJ40 overhaul and return to service, I had to drain, rinse, and flush the first tank 3 times to get it totally clean. It has a approx. 30-35 gal aux tank in the rear, between the frame rails, and I didn't even attempt that one. Trying to talk my son into removing that, and running...

Thoughts on reusing Windshield and Hardtop Glass Weatherstrip

Just replaced the broken rear window on my 1970 FJ40. The seal looked good, and I wiped it down with some silicone spray. My local glass shop said it was in great shape and was no problem to re-use them if they aren't cracked.

    FJ40 - Baby Found a New Home

Well crap, so much for my money-making flip!! The oldest son wanted it for a wedding present for his wife, and she loved it. Gave it to them for actual dollars in it, and labor was a gift!!! Not bad FJ40 for eleven grand, but HE can fix the headlights!!!! No greater love than a Dad for his...

    Anyone diy rubber floor mats

I went to the local ranch store, like CAL or Tractor Supply, and bought a roll of 1/4" thick in 40"x96" for $80. They use in truck bed, or kennels and stalls. It was exact between my fenders.

    1975 FJ40 Windshield glass

I was at my local shop and they had 3 older catalogues with pattern numbers. They had tons of old patterns, and said they could look up any of them with the number.

Any reason for two steering stabilizers on 74 FJ40

Normal tires, normal driving - no need. I have seen two used with huge mud tires to keep centered, but still don't think they are necessary most times

    1975 FJ40 Windshield glass

Just had a new rear cut and installed for my '70 FJ40 for $240. The ones in catalogs or online vary from $175-275 for fronts, but most won't ship. Local pickup only. I would expect good shops will do it for less than $300 all in

    FJ40 - Baby Found a New Home

I wish I could tell you I have great equipment, but I don't. Entry level only. I used a $25 Harbor Freight purple gun, and my undersized carpenter air compressor. I add an extra 11 gallon receiver tank to boost capacity, so I don't have to wait in between passes. The PPG Essentials acrylic...
