Mine was nice and simple , no airbags to worry about. Finding the issue was where all my time went, replacing the switch assembly was a piece of piss.

I removed the steering wheel first. Then from memory it's only a screw or two. The whole assembly comes out indicators, wipers and all. I've since replaced it all. It Helped for a month or two but started failing again for me.

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago. It was the stem switch, only lasted 30 years. The Copper just completely wore away I managed to get it going again but it's a bit dickie. Will be replacing it soon.

After cleaning them up and bending them out it all works fine. Don't know for how long though. I dare say I'll be buying another unit shortly

This here was the issue The tabs had worn down so far that they where not connecting properly. Even after pulling it apart I'm not sure how one could do it without making a mess.
