Just got my alignment done after the suspension settled a bit. What do you guys think of the alignment figures post settling? specifically the caster camber tradeoff and rear right toe
As you can see the rear right toe at -0.25 is this cause for concern? Got three alignments in the last two...
Got the alignment in spec after the second visit. Had to sacrifice a little caster to get camber in spec but everything is within spec now. @Boston Mangler thanks for talking me into starting on the 3rd circlip.
Just picked up the car from my go-to mechanic. He was able to take care of the dash lights! Pesky wheel sensor wiring.
Going to the alignment shop tomorrow for a realignment.
Here are my readings of hub to fender measurements before and after. I went went 3rd circlip. I was expecting more of a rake going with the 3rd circlip but I really like how it looks now. A slight factory rake for when the back is loaded up but I do expect the fronts to settle and lose a 1/4 or...
Great to hear some TLC going in another 200. These things deserve it. I’ll be able to confirm after Tuesday. I asked my alignment shop to get as close to 3.0 caster as possible but they took that as gospel and got the caster to 3.0 but left positive camber. I’ll be going back to my shop to...
So got a killer deal on some Falken Wildpeak AT3W in the SL load rating and decided to jump on it ahead of the wheel alignment.
From the research I’ve done the SL rated fallen all terrain tires should be smoother on smaller bumps and take some of the slow speed harshness from the digestive...
@Boston Mangler would you mind posting your alignment specs post lift?
Wanted to compare it to the specs post lift from Firestone. They were saying they were able to get the caster close to 3 but there is a little bit of positive camber. Wondering what’s normal with OEM arms post lift.
I know this calibration thing is an issue with some 4Runners and tacomas after getting lifts. Let’s see, going back to the shop on Monday to get the lights taken care of.
Thank you so much for your sage advice especially on the panhard bracket and going on the 3rd perch. Hope the techs at...
Just got the rig back from the shop after the suspension overhaul and 6112/5160 bilstein installation.
The job included installation of the following:
1. 6112 Bilstein front struts at 3rd circlip from the bottom. Theoretical lift of 1.8inches
2. 5160 struts and standard load Bilstein springs...
Car is back from the shop today. This suspension overhaul was the biggest job to date and arguably the most expensive. Coming in a close to ~4.2k in parts and labor.
The following were installed:
1. 6112 Bilstein front struts at 3rd circlip from the bottom. Theoretical lift of 1.8inches
2...
How do you like the ride with perch 3 and the SL rated falkens? This is where I might end up as well. Your recent comment made me think you might not be liking the setup/stiffness.
I drove the rig on some gravel roads and to and from a lake on the highway. Forgot how nice the stock setup is on...
You have a persuasive aura. I’m gonna go with the OEM UCAs and 3rd circle from the bottom. Ordered the shorty Dr kdss bracket for the pan hard.
Cost estimate for this project is going to be somewhere around $3400 (materials and labor).
@Boston Mangler You’ve spared no expense on parts for your...
Posting here so others have it too. @Boston Mangler could you share the link or part number for the shorty Dr Kdss bracket? I can’t seem to find it online on their website. They either got rid of it or I’m just not looking at the right place.
