That may be where the hose should. I found a photo of another fzj100 below so it may resolve your issue. If the charcoal canister is bad, it's probably easier to replace on a fzj100. The uzj100 canisters are discontinued so they're impossible to find.

Is it a 1FZ or 2UZ engine? We didn't get this configuration in the US, but I believe that line should either go to the intake manifold or air filter housing.
