I put one of those hoses on years ago but it might have been too late. I'm thinking like you, probably a bearing. I'll dive into mine this summer, once I get settled after moving.
I'm curious if you found anything obvious with the T-case when you disassembled it? I am experiencing a similar noise, which we talked about last fall when I picked up the spare tire, thanks again for that. I did buy a rebuild kit but have been too busy to do anything with it and am hoping that...
I would say about 12 to 14 hours spread out over a month as I started it in the winter and would wait for small windows of warm afternoons, probably not the best way to do it, but the results came out far better than expected. I really took my time as it was my first attempt at installing one...
You might want to check rock auto. I bought the carpet from them as they were more affordable than anyone else. Also, if you change between the '85 and '86 images, you can see the difference in the molding around the seat mounts. More prominent on the '85. That might help to determine what you need?
I do know that the front seat brackets and mounts changed sometime late '85 or '86, I'm not positive when, so maybe the carpet is slightly different because of that. I purchased their carpet for my July of '85 cruiser which has the early seat mounts and for the money I think the carpet is well...
Congrats on attempting this on your own and it looks mighty good for your first go. I was having a hard time finding someone to do rust repair and decided to tackle it myself and after a few repairs they just got better. I've always enjoyed fabricating and this was fun and therapeutic in a way...
Curiosity killed the cat so I began my hypothesis as to how that got in there. There were several pieces of paper, three of those pieces puzzled together spelled out "Attached information". S0........... I'm thinking when the gas tank was replaced, on the recall, this paper somehow ended up in...
I wanted to provide an update as it might help someone in the future. After rebuilding the carb I thought my problem was fixed but alas it was not. It ran fine for about a month and then one morning it died just like before and wait ten minutes and started right up. I was saying "it is like a...
Finally figured out my intermittent fuel delivery problem. A piece of paper in the gas tank. And, I was saying "it's like something is floating around in the tank and every now and again getting stuck on the fuel suction tube." Now I have a new filter, new suction tube thingy, new fuel pump...
My ’85 60 has been more reliable than any non-Japanese vehicle I have ever owned. But, in the non-Japanese defense, they were old. Mid to late 60’s and early 70’s, yeah I’m old too, and reliability probably didn’t matter as much back then. However, when I was in high school, late 70’s early...
I do believe that I have solved my problem. If you were brave enough to read thru my terribly looooong start of this thread, you would have figured I did everything except clean the tank and rebuild the carburetor. Fortunately for me, after I rebuilt the carb all systems are go!!!!! The screen...
Drove it. First time for a real drive after getting stolen 7 years ago. And, during that time, driving more modern vehicles daily I realized that A: this thing rides like a stagecoach. B: It is awfully slow. C: 33x10.50 are too big for stock gearing at 6000'. D: Guzzles gas and did I mention...
