rear screens input via cable from dashboard, alt method (e.g., for VLine, etc.) without visible cables

I haven't tried connecting the audio, so I haven't encountered that issue, but if you want audio, you absolutely 100% need to connect at least one of the audio cables (both for stereo), which you can connect in the same way as the video cable. If you have the video working, then you've got the...

rec for glass installer in SoCal or Vegas area

Anyone have a recommendation for a good glass installer in southern California (L.A. metro, ideally) or Las Vegas? Want someone who will follow the right procedure and use Toyota/Lexus glass. Thank you!

rear dashcam routing via "gutters" (with pictures)

TOW BK/UP -- 12V SEAT-HTR -- ACC (NB: ACC wire on the dashcam's hardwire kit, but the circuit, SEAT-HTR, turn on with the second press of the start button. I prefer this, but if you want it to come on with the first press, you'd need a different circuit.)

rear screens input via cable from dashboard, alt method (e.g., for VLine, etc.) without visible cables

Yup, I only want the rear screens to mirror what's on the main screen (so audio will be from the main speakers). If you want the rear screens to show something different (e.g., output from a media player at the front), or if you want to mute the head unit audio and still let the rear passengers...

rear screens input via cable from dashboard, alt method (e.g., for VLine, etc.) without visible cables

That is correct: RCA cable from the front dash (Android unit outputting HDMI to a converter providing composite video out) to the rear console where it effectively replaces the RCA input. (In other words, it moves the RCA input from the rear console to the front.) The Remote Control Adapter...

rear dashcam routing via "gutters" (with pictures)

There is a cross-member here, so I couldn't find an easy way to fish the wire through. Taking off the lower trim panel made this trivially easy (again, I'd recommend just taking off the panels). RH "gutter" front section to A-pillar. This is where I coiled the rest of the excess wire...

rear dashcam routing via "gutters" (with pictures)

Ran the wiring for a rear dashcam today. Found a few prior posts very helpful and thought I might as well document this particular route (seemed to be the easiest for me) in case anyone wants a step-by-step. I started at the back, although it may be easier to start at the front. This...

rear screens input via cable from dashboard, alt method (e.g., for VLine, etc.) without visible cables

Didn't want to leave the door open with cables "permanently" plugged in, so I lightly modified the harness on the Remote Control Adapter Assembly, and ran a cable to the dash. This looks neater to me and works perfectly. You could tap the cables instead, thus preserving the ability to use the...

first oil change on the new-to-me truck

Yeah, seems okay; I was looking at 2010. Will find a 2015 Owner's Manual and update here in case it has the same note. But everything's in agreement at the moment: 7.5L (7.9 US qt).

first oil change on the new-to-me truck

On a related note, has anyone seen this, from the 2015 2010 Service Manual? Green and blue are pretty close colors, but it would appear mine is blue, which means 7 L, not 7.5 L. There's no mention of this in the Owner's Manual. Update: I was looking at a "2015" Service Manual that is...

first oil change on the new-to-me truck

Thanks for the heads up and the detailed summary. I've done a few rabbit hole dives on filters in the past, but haven't updated in a while. This filter will probably come out in a few months and 6k or so, at which point I can look at other options. Whatever was in there before looked a bit...

first oil change on the new-to-me truck

First oil change. Pumped out the oil from the dipstick tube, got 7.5 L, then got another 0.5 L from the filter. Slightly over capacity (likely the dealer had over-filled), but not too bad. Not a single drop came out from the pan drain, which I've never seen before (oil temp was hot, filler...

    Android Auto via AUX input

Looks like the Grom C-GVMF (and other similar cables) are DisplayPort to whatever Toyota has as an input on the back of the HU (possibly DisplayPort with a different connector--there doesn't appear to be any processing in that cable). Seems like this would work, using the DisplayPort output...
