Do you mind saying a bit more on this? I'm having this issue off and on with my HDJ81, and the cruise control is behaving exactly as you've stated. Brake lights work just fine, fuse is fine, and brakes/calipers/rotors recently redone and in good condition, no dash lights saying 'heads up'...
