    FZJ80 front shocks....

My latest endeavor with my 97 anniversary , front shocks. But first, a testament to the robust design of the 80 series. Second, a general scowl to the engineers who placed the various components without consideration of mechanics accessibility to said components for servicing.... So there I...

timing chain guide problem. I think.....

Had to be my error when I did the head gasket. I'm usually meticulous about such things, but must have overlooked it. I got lucky this time!

timing chain guide problem. I think.....

Mystery solved, it was a camshaft bearing cap, No. 1 bearing cap right behind timing gear. Both bolts were completely backed out of the threads. The rattling was the cap bolt hitting the cam timing gear.

timing chain guide problem. I think.....

New noise/rattle coming from front of the engine. It's coming from the top of the timing chain cover/valve cover, seems to be fairly constant. I think it's the timing chain guide. I just did the head gasket about 8000 miles ago (271K on it currently). How crucial are the guides to the timing...

    Redarc SBI12D mounting location

I've searched many threads on dual battery set ups but could not find anything on where people have mounted their SBI12D. I know it should be mounted vertically as close to the starting battery as possible, but there ain't a lot of space near the starting battery to install it. Can anyone...

    LX450 Alignment

I guess I'd be a little leery of what the tech said. It may very well be that what he told you is true, however you can only adjust toe-in/toe-out on these vehicles without specialized knowledge. My understanding is that caster/camber is difficult to adjust on these and probably beyond the...

I just looked at the Ebay listing. Specifically says may not post to US. Oh well, I'll figure something else out.

Tried to order this from Australian site, doesn't work for US addresses. Tried the US site, they don't carry this particular switch.

80 series brake lines - can i buy them? or how do i proceed?

I have to do this repair myself. I have the factory lines, but the rust on the clamps is bad (hard to get at with tank in place). How difficult was it to drop the tank? or were you able to do it with the tank in place?

New thermostat = New coolant leak

The metal tube inside was a bitch to get out. I ended up using a pipe wrench and having to buy a new one. On the reinstall, I used a little (just a very light coating, a drop or two) of kroil on the o rings. It also helped that I was doing the reinstall/reseating in warmer temps.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

How do you like the Orvis dog hammock? I got a different brand and one of the straps broke in under a week. Looking for a good sturdy replacement.
