Once the engine is started, the CSI sensor wires are irrelevant. The only sensor that matters once running is the two-wire coolant temperature sensor, which is towards the bottom of the housing, near the sensor for the temp gauge. The EFI fan...

I just left the adapters off. I bought a cheap charging manifold from harbor freight, and hooked a can up to that. The charging manifold uses the same fittings as the low side on the compressor.

I found the part number 84580-36040, but I couldn't find any length measurements on it. Can't you just set the motor in the "OFF" position, turn the injection pump lever to the OFF position, and measure the distance? Also, it seems the original...

Yeah, like we said above. Prybars, jacks, and straps to bend the spring where you need it. No easy answer, sorry.

Yeah doesn't look like much left! FYI: Those are "anti-reversal" shackles, not reverse shackles.

It's a hassle. I recall needing to use a big pry bar to put force on the spring.

Well really the only two things it could be are a stuck starter solenoid or ignition switch. Either that, you have some wires melted together somewhere.

Absolutely nothing if your gas cap is on and your rig isn't a piece of junk that's leaking fuel everywhere. Wait until you find out what the hot exhaust pipe on these trucks is located right next to.

I doubt it's the bolt if it's going into aluminum. Just get a helicoil and be done with it.

I doubt it. It's pretty normal for these injector "rebuilders". They just hope they get away with it. I know people in person who have been burned by this, and have seem numerous accounts of the same exact things happening to people online.

Like I said, ongoing epidemic. I would just purchase a set of used pull-off injectors and have them cleaned. There's almost certainly a shop capable of flow-testing and cleaning injectors nearby. I'm guessing you probably sent your most likely...

I mean you are right, When I say "tough vehicles", I'm talking about older-style "durable" offroad vehicles that people typically praise for being "durable" and having "thick steel". These vehicles do not have have structures that are designed...

Fix the exhaust bolts and loose sniper. Try and smoke the exhaust if you can to see if there are any leaks. I suspect the noise you were hearing may have been the fuel pump cavitating, which would push air bubbles and all kinds of other nonsense...

The unfortunate reality is that the "tough" vehicles with thick steel, big bumpers, and rock sliders are often the most dangerous vehicles for the occupants. Crash protection is about energy management, not necessarily keeping the vehicle from...

Does fuel pressure maintain under load? If the exhaust was leaking, that can have a magic effect on things.

Holley says using the original pickup tube is permissible, however the fuel pump must be located within 18" of the tank, and mounted at level equal to the bottom of the tank so fuel will siphon into the pump.

Is the engine misfiring when under load? The reason I ask, is because misfires actually show up to oxygen sensors as a lean condition, because oxygen sensors actually literally look at the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. So a misfire doesn't...

I took a look at your datalog in the Holley software. Based on the what the "Learn %" and "Closed Loop Comp I took a look at your datalog. These Holley 2300s seem to have a real hard time tuning themselves on these low-power I6 engines. Your...

Please post the link so we don't have to go searching for it: 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1985-toyota-land-cruiser-fj60-222/ Anyway, my feedback: Exhaust looks dumb and is touching the body. Underneath...

Is the sender from a dealer? What's "normal" operating temperature to you? These engines run pretty steadily around 185-190F. Getting close to 205-210 (which is well before it boils) will have the gauge near or in the red. Where does the needle...

Unless you have modified your distributor's ignition timing or your sniper is controlling spark, there is no reason to run anything but 87 in these engines.

The O2 sensors are probably fine, IMO. Usually they fail reading lean (0v). I don't like the resistance of that one injector being so different. Seems odd to me. Do all the injectors have the same part number? Are they a light blue in color? Is...
    • L
Doubtful. You could pull it out of the manifold, and jump the fuel pump and see if it leaks. Manifold vacuum will only add maybe an effective 8-9 PSI more "pressure" across the injector. You should however should check the fuel pressure...

To an extent. At idle its very easy to overfuel an engine beyond adaptive limits with a saturated canister (or fuel-laded oil)
