Been driving it as much as possible lately. Into town to go to a car meet, up north to a car show (didn’t enter), just dailying it when I can.

Wish I knew. I played around with the mixture screws some. I did clean the contacts in the distributor cap but they weren’t bad to begin with, I was just grasping at straws at that point. It still randomly high idles, but it’s only died once so far. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

Drove it to a local Saturday am gathering where someone was interested in it but if they shared any pics, they didn’t tag me. 😕

I have t gotten the poor thing out near as much as I had hoped to this summer. It wasn’t running right, so I towed it to the PMC show in Petaluma and a local show. Then I fiddled with it some more and lo and behold, it runs! So I’m driving it as much as possible.

I got a vacuum tester thing but it didn’t have the right size hose so I paused that part.

It was running a bit fast there. I dialed it back a little bit when I got home. I spend so much effort getting it to idle low when I should just settle for a tad high but without the threat of dying at stops…

Good idea. The fuel pump is only a couple hundred miles old, hopefully the spring is still good.

Tore into the carburetor again. I knew it was coming, as it wasn’t running right when I put it away last year. A friend helped me last week and we cleaned one of the jets out. Thought we had it but then it wouldn’t stay running. Figured it was out of gas even though I had just put 2 gallons in...

Still not running right so I towed it to the PMC swap/show in Petaluma today.

    Best way to flat tow

Nevermind, I looked at it again. Pull the shaft, leave the t case in 2wd high.

    Best way to flat tow

When I brought my 40 home I flat towed it about 2.5 hours. I didn’t strap the steering wheel or pull the driveshaft, but I did put it in double neutral. Now, looking it up online it says to pull the driveshaft but leave the t case in 2wd high because of the splash oiling. But if there’s no...

Took my windshield washer pump apart (it didn’t work), broke a screw. 😬

Electrical and Windshield Washer Experts Needed

Without having stripped a wiring loom apart, there is no clear answer. Since the wiring for the motor runs up the left side of the windshield, and the pump is on that side as well, I’m guessing they splice up under the dash near the peddle assembly.
