Bought this from the original owner in New Mexico 98-99. Was rust free until I brought it to the Midwest in 2000. Lasted a few years before the rust really started to get going. It’s pretty much everywhere now. Served daily driver duties until a couple years ago and weekend wheeler duty until about 8 years ago. Been sitting in the driveway not seeing much action anymore. In fact, don’t think it’s moved in about a year.
Biggest issue is rust. It’s significant in all the usual locations. Rain gutter, a-pillars, lower doors, rockers, lift gate & starting to get a spot the inside drivers side frame rail. AC quit working a few years ago. Plenty of wheeling scars. Bottomed out the front driveshaft during its last big wheeling trip to BHCC. T-case has been clicking under load in 4wd ever since. Haven’t wheeled since then, but used 4x4 several times including winter highway use. Still working but something is obviously wrong so I certainly wouldn’t wheel it as is. Picked up a spare t-case off mud a few years ago but never got around to installing. Case included in sale. Front driveshaft has since been shortened.
I want to keep the 80 wheels for my 4runner, but I do have 4 new in box Eatons, 15” black with heavy centers, that will go with the truck.
Other than the spring over, high steer, 3/16” tie rod & drag link, air lockers, header, Jim C distributor, Jim C carb and desmog, it’s pretty much stock.
Any spares I have go with it. Have some extra lift gate glass, stock steering links, think I have some spare axles, not sure what else it’s been so long since I loaded up for a trip.
Would much rather this go to someone here, so I’ll entertain offers before I resort to craigslist.
