tucker............im going to see if she will also ship the upper door frame.. i think the lower is the same as the tailgated 55.
cruiser_guy.... I will check my bag of tricks and see what my extra weather stripping looks like. You would ofcourse get it all... but which one are you aiming for so I can check.

Have fun with that Dave. It'd be a PITA, but with some work you could make it work.

ahh... nice link with a bunch of photo's... what i think i can do is just have her cut out the upper portion of the door frame and then weld that into my pig... what would be really nice is if someone actually has hands on knowledge of what is exactly different and what needs to be changed out. I could have her cut out the entire rear just behind the windows.... then section out the sheet metal used for the doors.... lot of work but I have done this with other projects and the sheet metal just gets spot welded into place.... being its stock sheet metal you cant tell... would be great if that would work with this too..

Well that totally bits ass. I went to that url posted above and from there I was able to get the best photo's I have seen to date. Not only where these photo's higher quality then others I have viewed over the past few years but they also gave better angles so you could see the door jam behind the ambulance doors. I remember a few years back on the pig list the topic and how different it was. I dont remember it ever being stated on what those differences where. Now I know they are completely different. Which kind bums me out being I found this nice set for 420usd delivered to my door. I sold my home and now live at the university we attend. So I am kinda up a creek w/out a paddle. I was hoping I would be able to fit them and get a good seal to get me by until I could do the proper work. 
I think it was back in the mid to late 90's I had the tailgate off a pig I owned. I took the ambulance doors from my 40 and put them in place of the tailgate. Looked like it would work just fine to get rid of that dammed pita tailgate. Bummer part now is I no longer own a 40 or have ambulance doors from a 40 to see what it would look like. And Im getting old timers disease so I forgot what it looked like back then. Anyone wanna take a shot at it and maybe throw some photo's out way?

I think you will need a rear clip to make them work. I have compaired pictures to what a tailgate model is and they are very...very different.
You could talk to eshan or a soldier in Iraq. They could find a FJ55 cheap with barn doors.

Well I have two sets of ambulance doors on hold. I even have a rear clip on hold. We are going to see what the doors will look like on a tailgated 55 inorder to see how they really fit and what needs to be fab'd up to make them work. I have seen all the photo's too... even mentioned it. This is something I have been wanting to do for years.
