Gents,

I just heard that US 40 wheels with the rivets will not fit onto OZ HJ45/47 drum brake hubs. The rivets apparently touch before the wheel can sit flush onto the hub. Do any of you have experience with this?

I am about to pick up a set of riveted wheels from being blasted and coated which might not fit the truck. If this is true I'd imagine that wheel spacers would solve the issue.

Thanks
Randy

Jason from Pawtucket bought the fj45 rhd from John had the same issue and had to scrap usig the rivoted wheels he had 2 with rivots and 2 without and was unable to get the 2 with rivots to work on front or rear:( atleast you did not widen them. how much of a wheel spacer are you looking for or need. I have 2 sets of spidetrax 1.5" wheel spacers that I got for the lv inorder to runmy 5.25 bs wheels. but it is hard to find anythin between the 1.5" and 1/2" I know I am not going to use one set of them in that I plan on using the sky widening kit ont he front end when I get around to rebuilding it with newer knuckles. if that is what you need I will sell it to you for cost. save me from returning it.

Hey Jason,

Yeah, it was RI Jason that told me. If your 1/2 spacers work I would be interested in those, otherwise I'd like to try the 1.5" spacers. Glad you have these and we could deduct from the trailer hitch. :)

Thanks man.
Randy

I only have a set of the 1.5"s no 1/2"s but could do that swap for the 1.5"s for hte hitch:)

With the number of AU trucks which are getting imported I think this needs to make it into the FAQ. I hope the spacers work for you Randy. I am pretty sure that the 1.5" would work. If you can get half inch that might even work. I have (2) 1/4" spacers that I was going to use on the front of the 45 as I rub a little at full turn. I could stack them just to see if it I could fit flush so you could go ahead and order the 1/2 if they work.

Will mount the wheels tomorrow night and we'll see what size spacers are needed. Also wondering about the TRE rubbing.

You're right JohnnyC, I just want to run the chrome moonies. :grinpimp:

Did not know those existed. Great - more unobtanium to obsess over, thanks Johnny. :flipoff2:

I was even thinking of putting tabs on my splits...just have to find bad rims to grind off the tabs ...i had seen many years ago Toyota PN'rs for the tabs....but....i cant remember and they dont show up on any microF...or on toyota EPS.

split rim w/tabs :)...now go get one randy ;)
split rim tabs.webp

FYI ,everytime i post numbers someone contact's Cdan he will tell you they are no good , these #'s are not in his system but they are good #'s ,the epc shows no split rims with clips in the U.S. or Canada

P.S. #s taken from EPC updated or revised to and including 2007 models . so numbers are accurate

I have a set of tabs that I ground off if you are interested. Pay the shipping and I'll send them to you.
