I'd like to see some pictures of 45/47 series pickups/flatdecks showing the mounting for the license plate and license plate light. I have a new Toyota license light and have noticed no holes on the rear crossmember/bumper to fit it - I wonder if there was some sort of mounting plate?

Do you have the orginal bed? The long beds came with a special plate holder that mounted underneath somehow.

I don't have one, but took pictures of one at the Denver TLCA Rally. I'll see if I can't find them.

not sure if correct or orignal........but the early 45's had no light that I know of, sure the latter ones did

My truck was originally sold in Oz as a cab/chassis unit, so it never had the factory bed. It does have accomodation in the wiring harness for the license plate light, so I imagine it went on there somehow. i'd like to see what was original, if anything, before drilling holes in the rear chassis crosspiece.

Thanks for your question!

License plate light.

I seem to remember that at least one of my trucks had a space cut out of the bottom of the tail light housing with a clear piece of plastic to allow light to go down from the housing and illuminate the license mounted on the bumper/frame.

If this isn't a factory piece, then the owner did a great job finding this off of something else.

Yeah, I agree it looks good - - and the question remains, is that the factory mounting? If it was, I imagine locating such an item would be next to impossible. Thanks for the excellent pics!

That's the setup that was on my LWB as well. I don't know firsthand of the later vintage, but I suppose someone with a microfiche could investigate.

I have one in my hand. 99% of the 45's 75's etc sold down here are a cab chassis. The brakets toyota supplied for lights and number plates were mainly discarded, and the units were built into the Tray, which were made by hundreds of local body builders.

These have been laying around for a long time. Im sure this a 45 series one which is the same as the early 75 series.

It's yours if you want it..

45 LPB rear license plate

Hi, Dave.

If Chris doesn't want it, I could surely use it on my pickup--even pay the postage from there to here!! Or do you know where there is another like it?
