Pretty soon they will be paying us to take them off their hands.

Technically, although they are not certified for FRS or GMRS, they work pretty well on these channels.
 
so, no display and a voice telling you what channel you are on...
how many channels do they have?
 
Looks like a great radio for hiking or spotting on the trail. I didn't research enough to find out if the power could be set to less than the 5W or 3W level, not clear which it is.
 
16 channels and no VHS either. I say spend the extra $12 and get the whole UV-5R enchilada.

dude, get with the times... VHS is long dead...! plus the tapes are a bit big for a HT... :)
