This is a well-sorted 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 pickup. This truck spent its early life in the Middle East before being imported to the US. It features the classic brown paint with a white cab roof, matching inward-facing rear flip-up troopy bench seats, a factory headache rack, removable top and a fold-down windshield. It’s essentially rust free having spent its life in the Middle East. No rot, very minor surface rust in few spots, see pics and blemishes below.
The truck shows approximately 76,400 kilometers (~47,500 miles) on the odometer, with only about 250 miles added under current ownership. It is powered by a strong-running 4.2-liter 2F inline-six mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.
Since purchasing the truck, well over $7,000 has been invested in premium OEM or high quality Japanese rebuild parts to address common vintage Cruiser weak points and significantly upgrade the front end for modern reliability and driveability.
Recent Upgrades & Mechanical Rebuild (Less than 250 miles ago):
Front Axle & Steering: Entire front axle completely rebuilt from the housing out. Upgraded with 60-series knuckles and disc brakes. Built with a Longfield Chromoly 30-Spline Axle Kit (long spline), new spindles, brand-new wheel hubs, new wheel studs, genuine Aisin locking hubs, all-new knuckle hardware, and premium Koyo bearings.
New rear wheel hubs and studs.
Braking System: Brand-new master cylinder and brake booster. New front brake lines installed and the entire system fully flushed.
Driveline: Installed a transmission-to-transfer-case bypass hose to equalize oil pressures and prevent transfer case oil migration.
Engine & Cooling: New thermostat, fresh gaskets, and new cooling hoses. Fresh engine coolant flush and an oil change utilizing an OEM Toyota filter. Brand-new battery installed.
Body & Interior Refresh: Fresh door handle hardware, new door weatherstripping, and new window runs for a tight, quiet cab seal.
Wheels & Tires:
Currently sitting on forged aluminum 80-series wheels wrapped in brand-new 295/75-16 Nitto Ridge Grappler All-Terrain tires (less than 50 miles on them).
Includes a matching, full-size 5th spare tire and wheel.
Note: The 5 original 16" gray split-rim steel wheels and tires are also included with the sale if you prefer the factory-stock look.
Additional Items Included:
Original factory bows for a bed soft top.
An OEM-style canvas top (will require some minor stitching/repairs).
This is an exceptionally solid, turn-key FJ45 with all the heavy lifting and expensive axle/brake work already done. Clean title in hand.
I hate to sell it but I have 10 vehicles and need the garage space before winter hits.
Prefer cash but would consider partial or full trade for engine swap work or rust repair/body work on my other projects.
