I am putting my green FJ40 back up for sale. I want to be fully transparent and address the "identity" questions that were pointed out in my previous thread. The truck is titled as a 1973 and the frame VIN aligns with a '73. However, it is a November 1973 production model. This late production date explains why it came equipped with the transitional upgrades of a 1974 model: the 2F engine, 4-speed manual transmission, factory roll bar, and rectangular tail lights.
Mechanical Condition (Dry & Turn-Key): The truck currently has no known mechanical issues and no known active leaks. Under my ownership, I prioritized making it mechanically solid and dry underneath. In December 2022, I paid $3,400 in maintenance with my local LC mechanic. Work performed includes:

Mechanical Condition (Dry & Turn-Key): The truck currently has no known mechanical issues and no known active leaks. Under my ownership, I prioritized making it mechanically solid and dry underneath. In December 2022, I paid $3,400 in maintenance with my local LC mechanic. Work performed includes:
- Drivetrain Reseals: Full reseal kits were installed on the transmission, transfer case, and rear differential.
- Engine Gaskets & Seals: Replaced the rear main seal, front timing seal and gasket, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket.
- Fuel & Tuning: Installed a new Weber carburetor, performed a de-smog, adjusted the valves, and installed new spark plugs.
- General Maintenance: New belts, oil change, radiator service, and a windshield fix.
- Metal Repair: The rusty areas were completely cut out and replaced. Fresh sheet metal was fabricated and welded for the rear sill, wheel wells, and quarter panels.
- Paint : The exterior was prepped and shot in a beautiful classic Green. The entire interior floor and bed were treated with a bedliner. There are a few small paint chips along with some overspray at the rear driver since this was performed and should be detailed in the pictures.
- Undercarriage: The frame, leaf springs, and front/rear axles were stripped, prepped, and coated black.
- The hard top is in great shape and was recently reinstalled.
- Features the classic rear jump seats.
- Full disclosure: There is a tear down the center of the front passenger seat and small ones on the two jump seats.
