the valley, yeah that one
How does a LA County or vicinity run sound on the 26th or 27th? I could also pull the 19th or 20th if no one is in...

I was thinking a pretty informal show up and wheel type deal, so... Maybe Cleghorn ridge trail (I just did it last week), or maybe if someone has run the Miller trail (still have not done this one yet). Or maybe something else anyone has a hankerin' for?

Post up any preferences and dates.

cheers. (shane and zero)

I must have too much going on. Outside if this weekend (and we're supposed to get anywhere from 2-10" depending on where you are, I'm hosed every weekend the entire month of January between scouts, work and taking my daughter back to college.

I'm going to Baja next weekend, so if this run ends up being the later date, I might give it a shot.

I always wanted to do something "up North".

I would love for something to happen closeby (North of LA Co.) - only stickler is that Im working Fri night shift before those dates mentioned. Im pretty sure itll be hard to do a Sun gig for the people far down South. Ill see...

I'd be up for something on the 26th. I've run the Cleghorn road but it's been a long time. I've never run Miller but I'd be up for that now that I'm not so crazy skeered of body souvenirs.

Does anybody else have the 21st (Monday) off? I'd be up for that date as well or instead.

Dan.

So, maybe it's looking like the 26th is better?

Would Miller be out for folks who have stockers? If so, then I guess Cleghorn would be the call (there are some others in that area too).

I'm pretty much open to whatever, so...keep 'em coming!

If I can do it, so can you :D

I work nights too and Fridays are usually busy for us, so I feel your pain.

I'll try to go if work allows...

Big Bear / Arrowhead etc sounds fun.

Miller will likely be closed, btw. Many others around there too. Check with NF.

miller closed for winter:whoops:

So I guess that makes it Cleghorn then...

I dont work that weekend, but as things get closer i will figure out if I'm in or not but for now I'm in.

:hhmm: Hmm...maybe I can go after work and pickup a bagel (+cup of joe) on the way.

Cleghorn's a pretty good run.

Are we talking the Cleghorn right off of I-15 near the truck scales, or the one that starts at the dam at Silverwood Lake and goes up towards Arrowhead? (is that what it's called up there?)
Be fun to go with a bunch of wagons!

How about snow up there, anybody know the elevation? ...or if NFS closes that road if it's muddy?

Dan.

I was thinking the one off the 15, but the other would be cool too. (I also ran it from the 138 towards the 15). I'm really up for whatever.

There were a few sections with some frost when I went last week, so it may get snowy...I don't think it gets closed with the weather.

As we get closer, I'll ask for at least a roll-call.

cheers!

2N17X and Pilot rock trails I think. Different trails than Cleghorn. All 3 can be fun.

2N17X, that's the one I was thinking about but I couldn't find the number. It used to be a black diamond, but I think it was for one section that was kind of tough but generally runnable by stock rigs. Not sure what it is now. I remember Pilot Rock was a fire road, but it goes either way back toward Silverwood Lake or up to Arrowhead which might be an adventure for another day (Summer / Fall type?)

I'm up for either as the 'real' Cleghorn can offer some fun side-excursions off of an otherwise simple fire-road. It's dirt and it's been awhile since I've seen any (dirt that is!)

If we ended up on I-15, that'd put me closer to home at the end of the day and that's OK.

Dan.

So I guess we'll call it Cleghorn from the 138 side on the 26th. Say maybe 10 or 11? Shouldn't take all day, and folks can go easy getting there and back.

Who's in:

Me.

Sorry Shane.

I won't be able to go. The wife is having surgery on the 22nd.

Absolutely not an issue. Family should ALWAYS come first. Hope it's nothing big and that she has speedy and complete recovery/healing.

cheers.

I'm 75% there. Mechanical issue is the only thing from a firm 100% but I'll work it out.

Don't know the meeting point on 138, it's been awhile since I've been there. I know it's right off the road, so if others are parked there at a certain time, I'll likely see it.

Just don't say "you can't miss it!" That's the kiss of death for me cause I always do!

I'll keep in touch.

Dan.
