Started an SOA with SR yesterday afternoon at 4pm... Goal was to finish it today within 24 hours... I can honestly say it was on all 4 wheels when I left at 3pm today but... lets just say i didn't drive it home. There was 6 hours of sleep somewhere in there too. Some welds need to be finished, drive shafts lenthened, replace the brake master and brake lines plumbed. Abel is a machine and did an awsome job.

If it wasn't for Abel and his plasma cutter I'd still be drilling and hammering rivets out... I had the new front axle fully assembled but the rear needed a 3rd so I was somewhat prepared. We did the front last night and finished about 2 this morning. Got back on it about 9 and worked until 3 on the rear. Ended up with 100 inch wheelbase and about 22 inches under the frame rails which should drop a fair bit as the springs settle in. The frame was sitting at 17.5 prior.

The front springs are just some stockers I pucked up with a front axle a while ago. The rears are 45 springs and the shackles were mounted quite low which sucked, now the are a little nicer but still stick out a little. We just used factory shackle mounts welded to the rear bumper.

Its gonna be interesting getting it out of the garage... Might have to throw my old 31s on it... I don't know if airing down will work or not.

Thanks again Abel!:D

wow good work... I wish I could get things done that quick!

Thanks... I can't do stuff that quick either but when the guy your working with remembers that the shackle hole should be 42.5 inches from the center of the front spring hangar... Not to mention the plasma cutter...

nice work man, that thing is still looken badass....plasma is always nice....very nice. did you ever get that SM420 in that sucker?

No, unfortunately if I leave the house I better be going to Abels to get my junk out of his garage so he can use it to work on his own stuff...

I did get shocks mounted, welds finished and brake line tabs on the front axle this afternoon, just spent about 3 hours there.

just shock mounts and break lines up front today, Abel built shafts too after I left. Sorry about the pic quality...

Thanks man, so far I love it.

Just working on the track bar and put some stock shackles in the back which I think will invert when i flex it... I need to check it in the bush. I should get the ARB hooked up and the track bar mount on the rear axle tonight. I need to test the shackles before i mount the track bar though.

Thanks Rob. It actually feels more stable cause the front axle is articulating now. Side hills will be scetchy. The belly is sitting just around 21.5" and falling. The front springs are settling in nicely. They need to be flexed though. Looking like I will need to space the rear shackles off the bumper a bit.

update...

Well still no real testing, got a few more things on the to do list. Heres the progress though.

Well the back was riding a little higher than the front so I swapped in stock shackles.

Turned out to be a mistake because the top leafe is actually hitting the hanger as the spring compresses. I bought some 3/4"x2" flat bar to move the hangar back. Otherwise I will have to move it up and run a longer shackle which I haven't totally ruled out.

Next was the traction bar. I actually rotated the pinion down a bit before doing this and did the final welds on the rear perches.

I used the old traction bar but extended it to where the axle sits now. The 40 spring bushings I used were trashed and the heim at the front wasn't getting full rotation. I modifed the rear to use 60 spring bushings and made some misalignment spacers out of DOM with the angle grinder.
