Well, sad to say I wrecked my LX450 today. :frown: Spun out in the snow/ice on the interstate, hit cement barricade with the left front corner which spun back around and hit the right front into a RV trailer travelling next to me.

Looks like I'm gonna need core support, radiator maybe, rt fender, ft bumper, the right lights, and a hood repair. Will have to take it in to the shop to get estimates but I'm guessing $3500 range. :bang:

Good news is nobody was hurt!. Bad news is I really didn't want to spend my tax return on body repairs! :)

Guess I'll be surfing the classifieds for some parts.

Wait...

Snow/ice in Texas? How can that be? :)

Sorry for the carnage but good luck in the repairs...

If insurance isn't going to cover it, it sounds like easy wrenching if the frame isn't tweaked.

Front frame rails may be a little tweaked. The radiator support is buckled and radiator is leaking pretty good. So probably gonna need to go somewhere that has a frame machine so they can at least measure it out and confirm if it is off or not.

We've actually had a 30 year record. 9-12 inches in some areas. Not quite like up in Northern states - but for Texas that's a freakin' blizzard!

That really stinks, but now is the time to cut the fenders out and throw some serious tires under there.

If you were in Houston, I could tell you where to find the parts you need in salvage yards, which is where I suggest looking.

yea, I plan on checking salvage yards and LKQ yards as well as aftermarket on the lights.

-so far from what I can see looks like I'm gonna need:
-passenger headlight
-passenger park light
-radiator
-passenger fender
-maybe driver fender but I think it can probably be repaired
-radiator support ( which by the way - are these completely bolt on???? )
-hood hinges

i recently replaced the DS inner fender, fender, and core support. took about 5 hours total. core support unbolts entirely. radiator stays in the rig (but i see yours is pooched).

it was much easier than i thought it would be.

bowser(on mud) has a PS (right) LX headlamp. dont even try to buy one for a wrecking yard... ask me how i know.

got pics?

Was going about 55mph. I took the bumper off drove about 30 miles with no issues. Then got 8 miles from home and radiator gave out. Looks like it broke the lower mount as coolant coming out faster than I could fill it up to try to limp home.

Something going on with steering as the 12 O'clock position is now at the 9 O'clock.

BPASSMORE - that totaled your truck? What was estimate cost of repair? Are you keeping it?

these axles bend easily... this is also how i twisted my sector shaft...

Great - now I'm seeing even higher $ signs. Hopefully this is not the case. I have liability only so will be fixing out of pocket.

I'm guessing closer to $5200. Be sure the A/C system is checked - I think you also took out the AC drier at driver's lower.

That sux man! Sorry to hear it. I am in Ft. Worth and can tell you I havent found 1 junk yard in this area that has any cruisers. This snow was pretty crazy for DFW. I am sure it will be 100 degrees next week. :D

yea just looking at parts, etc looks like may be closer to $5500 range depending on availability of parts.

a/c drier surprisingly is OK. However the lines may be compromised.

As much as I hate to say it - may be better parting her out....

Texlex450, I was thinking the same thing. I bought my cruiser in Keller for 3400. I may put money into building the rig, but I dont know that I could put that much in repairs. May be better off getting another and parting that one. That sucks man, I am sure its killin ya! Well, if you do decide to part it, let me know first! My old gal could use some things. I will buy ya a beer to drown your sorrows. :)
