Anybody mount an 8274 on an 80? I've got an 8274 that I just rebuilt, and since I'm selling the 40, I'd like to put it on my 80. Is that too funky? :steer:Ned

check landspeeders ROTW......he used to have one stuffed in the old style slee bumper with some minor grill trimming.

Took me a week to put one on my 80

wow, that's nice man!

ARB actually makes a bumper specifically for the 8274.

that would be the ARB commercial bar....it also is narrower and lines up best w/ flareless rigs

And from my research is the only company that does (and is available in North America) so far.
My love for my trusty 8274 is the only reason I fabbed my own.
It's been on there for a year now and I don't regret it one bit.
I have only really had to snatch block once because I was stalling with a 3/4 full spool and pulling a loaded chevy with a four sled trailer through the snow. Like most of the time "getting someone else out".

I have a commercial bar on my 80 with an 8274 and love it. It's brand new so I haven't had occasion to use it yet though...
If I had any skills I would have fabbed something up...but I don't have the knowledge or the tools so I took the 'easy' way out and waited 10 weeks for my bumper to arrive.

8274 on an 80 is such a silly idea. sell it to me for $300 and buy your yourself a brand new harbor freight winch. ill pay shipping.

I raise $ 5 over your offer, so show me your cards :D

By the way I have a 8274 on my 1974 FJ40 since day one when I bought it brand new, and going and going and going like a f***** rabbit LOL

Can you take couple of pics of this setup? I'm particularly interested in a side view shot.

Thanks dude.

arb bar with 8274, it's a tight fit. removal of the grill or the headlight windows is a bitch with the winch that close.

it's jammed in there, but it all works.

Is that the commercial bar or did you fab a new center bar?

Crusty, do you have any spacers in front of the winch? Or did you cut anything?

The reason I ask is that I have the deluxe bar and my dad just gave me an 8274. I have spent the last two weeks trying to figure out how to stuff it in there.
