Newbie here, but MUD has given me a heap of information so far. I have dona a few searches, and can't find anything on my latest problem yet.

I did the horn mod (washers behind the plate on the steering wheel) on an 87 minitruck, and it works beautifully. The problem is that when the wheel went back on, the door chime stays on constantly when the door is open, key in the ign or not. :bang:

I didn't think that there was a connection between the horn and the door chime, but I could be very wrong.

Any help is appreciated.

either find the short, or loose wire. or rig the buzzer.

the door switch may have a loose wire...

the way i rigged mine was easy and painless:

find the buzz box above the steering colum, under the dash.
open er up. jam some paper inbetween the contacts in there. done.

no snipin wires or nuthin.

Ill take a look in the morning.

Thanks for the fast response.

Yup, first mod I always do is to disable that stupid buzzer. Look for a small black box above the gas pedal under the dash. You can't just unplug it and chuck it, then things stop working like the clock and dome light.

CAREFULLY pry open the little catches so you can open the box. What I always do is gently bend the little tab away from the magnet so it can't buzz anymore. Then put it all back together.
