I know this its long shoot, but since I'm decided to swap Tencha factory alternator for bigger one ( I mean modern with more amps) wonder if anyone have 2F alt out to check measurement with my 2H alt.

My idea its find the most bolt on possible option since my alternator place isn't the easiest one tonwork with.

If measurements are close enough I could start looking with the 2F/3F alt base.

I'm pretty sure must be out there folks with updated alt units for 2F / 3F alternators.

Here what I have to start with..

And yes I'm so happy so I can finally ditch this alt coz I won't gonna need the attached vaccum pump anymore..!

nice .. looks like 2F / 3F ( assuming are the same ) are just plain smaller .. but not big deal as far as I can see, coz I can cut my braket smaller so it will fit between the smaller alt ..

thanks Gotmud ..

Now just need to know which are my options out there ..

Tapage, back in my Suzuki Samurai days (which all started in Panamá :D) I used to swap out the whimpy stock Suzuki alternators for a GM 1-wire unit, like this

However the size made things kinda bulky under the hood of a Samurai so I switched to one of these. Of course, I had to get a regular v-belt pulley made so I went to a guy that made them for our 4x4 club down there. He used to be here :D. Any decent machinist can make one for you or modify yours to fit.

Here is the spot of my alt in my 2H under my AC compressor not too friendly...

Wonder if I can use one of those alt that one tap ( hole) for the pivot point instead of 2 like my factory alt have

You can upgrade your existing alt to put out more and hold a higher amp load. There are shops that do it. I used to pay 60$ to have mine done.

I did .. years ago .. if you look closer even with smaller ( really small ) pulley it's suppose to put something close to 80 amps .. but isn't really what I get when I really need amps for my big winch ..

What about a second alternator?:meh:

kinda complicated in my engine .. the other side it's full of fuel filter and IP ..

What diameter pulley is on your 2h? Just crurious as my 12ht 24v is 82mm but yours looks alot smaller which is what i am after, im sure the 2h and 12ht share the same shape alternator so the offset and belt size should be a direct match!

did you alt have vacuum pump attached in the back ?

My pulley it's like 3" or less I can measure if you want .. by this one it's custom made locally . .

An Isuzu NPR 4BD1/2 alt may be an option for you. These alts have a vac pump, 85/90 amps and according to flcruiser, they are an almost direct swap for a 2f alt including the pulley.

These are the best pics I have right now, but if interested I will take some more with measurements.

These engines are available in Central America and the alts are well made with good vac pumps.

Just an idea.

thanks Doug .. looks like great option .. but I just want to ran out from vacuum pumps .. we also have the hyundai Terracan option 120 amps down here .. but it's just more of the same ..

I wanna go with something with more than 120 amps at least ..

Just curious, Tapage, what are you going to do for a vacuum source?

actually the only thing that was using vacuum in Tencha was the brake booster .. I just swap ( month ago or twice ) to hydroboost .. so I'm out of the vacuum world ..

Yes my alt has the vac pump, I need a pulley with an over all diameter of about 70mm or 2.75" or smaller. If yours is this size I might be interested in buying it off you if you want to sell and shipping isn't rediculous.

I'm probably gonna use the same small pulley with the new alt ..
