Another 85 FJ60 Build---Blue #2?
I was down out the dam at Flaming Gorge.. Utah/Wyoming area. A guy comes up to me and asks if I'd be interested in selling " OLE BLUE ".. SURE if the money is right.
We talked, test drove offroad and highway, and negotiated a price. We exchanged info and I was off back to the house.
A few weeks went by and this guy calls and asks if I'm still interested in selling?? I said yes and he says he can come up the next day with his trailer and pick up " OLE BLUE ".. I told him he didn't need a trailer he could drive BLUE anywhere.
But, anyway... He shows up to my house with another rusted 60 on his trailer with body parts stuffed in the back.. I just figure he's found another project on the way here.
He said "Have I got a deal for you!" OH BOY! I've heard that before. Said he was a grand short on the agreed price but has this to exchange for the price difference. Had title, complete quarters, drivers fender, 4 doors, complete motor, transmission, and transfer case, and a Safari snorkel "new in the box".
I inspected the 60, stock as could be, and asked a few questions. He said that the engine ran rough and wouldn't stay running. Transmission and four wheel drive worked great. Rust in all the usual spots and then some. Interior was in fair shape.. SURE I'M IN for the price difference.
Off load all his stuff in the shop and loaded "Ole Blue" on his trailer.
So, the work and addiction starts ALL OVER!! WOOHOO!
It's been a few weeks since I started so I'll play catch up on pics in the next few posts to come..
All in all I'm excited to get rolling down the roads again..
Here is the new Blue #2
Charlie is ready for a ride!
