Was wondering what might be the popular opinion on something I might be considering doing...My 1989 Toyota Red FJ62 has one of those old style dealer installed roof racks. I want to remove it. When I do get it taken off, I was thinking about having the top painted white...Kind of a nod to the FJ40 and now the FJcruiser. I dunno, might look good, might look crappy. I have never seen one done like that so I have nothing to go by. Let me know what you think of the idea.... ???

Just experimented with it in Photoshop. I think it looks odd with the white top.

I like it. Do you have a blue one you could photo chop?

Looked odd at first. But, the more I look at it.....??

I don't like your signature. Is it a slam against women?

On the white roof issue. I like it. Also probably keeps it cooler inside in the summer. I would do it. But instead I painted my whole truck white :)

Hey looks good on a blue cruiser too.

When just painting the roof, I thought it might be a nice touch to come down the window piilars too.

Yeah, i was thinking about that. Do all around the windows or something? I just did the top because it was fading and starting to get little rust spots. I will mess around in photoshop and see how it looks. If someone else wants to post up a photoshopped one that would be great, because I am terrible at it.

Honestly, hks3sgte's link looks good, to me the rest look out of place, but esp the red one, that's bad! Just my two pesos...

white doesnt uv brake down, show mud or scratches, and reflects heat well unlike the other colours from what ive seen, probally also depending on the quality of paint used. however i heard in new zealand that darker colours dry off quicker preventing rust better. as well shiny hoods are harder on the eyes on bright days. a flat or matte darker colour would be probally be better for the hood. jmo, anyone heard different or same?

I'm using adobe photoshop.

Here's another one with the top and pilars white.

I still think it looks wrong. Not bad on the other colors. Faded paint seems to help.
