Can anyone post up a picture of what the mount that holds the cable that engages the vacuum 4wd selector. The good news is that I have half of this... luckily Toyota integrated half into the underdash section and was firmly welded into place. The other half has been lost and I don't recall what it looks like. It appears the top half must have a "foot" that goes in first, then the bottom half bolts on and sandwitches the cable.

Again, this is a 68' FJ40.

Thanks.....

these might not be good enought, i can take some tomorrow up close if ya need em :D

thanks destin, but wrong year

Thanks Destin, but mine is a 68', so different setup. Mine has a cable running under the dash just to the left of the operable vent opening linkage/knob. In the sor picture below you can barely see the knob to the left of the heater, left of the vent knob.

Is this what you are looking for, It is a simple piece of metal that held it up against the bottom of the dash. It fits snuggly in the wide groove in the pull knob base.

That looks like it. Now I have to find it, or make it.

Thanks!

what you see Above is what I haVE. I'M NO HELP

Destin the cable it almost identical to yours, just instead of in the dash where you pull it, It is mounted under the dash next to the parking break and you just pull it out or push it back in. Then there is a high low shifter knob under the dash also that you pull to switch instead if in the dash.

2fpower it looks very easy to fab something that will work, just have to start with it as wide as that groove. That funny part at the one end it probably not critical and you could make it even easer by doing a nut and bolt on both sides.

I did a hard target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in that area! NO LUCK.

Time to make it. Just printed out the pictures. THANKS everyone for their assistance.
