My rear heater hoses were pretty grimy and were getting dirt on my new durabak:mad: so I cleaned them up with some acetone on a rag but they still didnt look too nice with primer overspray on them.

So here are some pics of them covered up with some expando sleeving and heat shrink

looks a bit better now

The sleeve expands when you push on it and shrinks when you pull it from each end, I had some heat shrink just the right size so lucked out. Cut the expando so it hangs off the end of the hose to slide your heat shrink on easier If you want to reuse the orig clamps then cut it back behind where the clamps go for an easier fit cause the clamps are real close to the hose size.

Good deal. I acquired a valve recently that has a 90 degree hose fitting and hoped yours was that way. My valve also won't seal and I cannot figure out how it actually is supposed to seal. It's pot metal and I guess the ball has just worn out.

valve

Yeah I though about opening and closing it but decided against it it doesn't leak but if I messed with it?

I think I'll replace it after it's up and running, just one of the thousands of things to do

I see you posting replies but I haven't seen your 71 in a while---Are you putting all of your build posts on your site?

HA HA Never mind I just saw it!

I'm going to use a brass valve when I install mine. ;)

I am in research mode right now on my project. I just finished up all the fuel lines and am now mapping out all the other hoses I need. Heater and vacuum lines and cooling.

Also doing a bunch of documentation. Just updated the Nut and Bolt spreadsheet, updated my web site and took a bunch of pictures. :D
