I got the Scangauge mounting idea from Eric Vogt's HAM radio install. Pretty easy to do...

I noticed you have 33/285's. Does the Scan-gauge II automatically calculate correct speed and miles or do you still need to do calculations?

Nice looking install.

Nice clean installs, Penny's looking good! Next step: eliminating the "Miami Vice Gold Package(tm)"? :)

I was a big fan of that show dammit!

We need to lift the Watermelon one of these weekends. Maybe you can rattle can my gold bling for me.

Yep..you go into the setup and tell it your tire size. You then tweak the speed setting as well.

Could you explain this little bit more. Does it know what tire size the LC comes with and calculate the distance/speed with new tire size?? Or do we have to calculate it manully. This is one of the reasons that I am holding up the scangauge idea.
Also do you have supply power line to it or does it takes power from the OBD line.

Nice truck by the way...you should to come to Houston for wheeling..

No manual calculation needed. You tell it your tire size and you also can calibrate/adjust the speed based on what your GPS tells you on one of the setup screens. Sorry for the clumsy explanation, but it's not difficult.

Yes, the SGII gets power from the OBDII port. All you have to do is route the cable. I ended up using a female to female network cable jack to make it reach the overhead area.

Thanks for explanation...it makes sense now...

Up the driver's side A-pillar. I used a female-female coupler and a 6 foot network cable to finish the run.

Edit: You don't really need a 6 footer since I had a bunch left over and just coiled it up and hid it. You might get away with a 3 footer.

Good idea... I placed mine just under the cendar.. waiting a better idea... got it !

Where are your carpet (rubber) from ?
They look fitting great

nice. I have my SCII above my steering column....same items as you actually! Except in metric!

Did you know they have an upgrade now where you can see what horsepower you are making? It requires that you send the unit back to them so they can upgrade the unit and then do some config stuff...

You can check what version you have and if you need the upgrade.... the web site is here:
ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool

follow the prompts.
cheers

Still haven't found out if the SG-II will work in a 2001(2000) HDJ-100, Euro specs, which has the E-OBD protocol.
I asked the manufacturer, but they couldn't give a clear answer.
Did anyone try?

If it does, I think there isn't any fuel flow sensor which could give milage info.

i purchased mine here in Oz at Wooders Garage
As you may know or not, theres a lot of deisels down here.
So click on the link or phone them. We are GMT+10....

Also, i noticed theres now an Aussie site for ScanGuage

here

i havent had anything to do with them, but info is good!

Please post anything you find as there's many people that are keen to find out info on OBD/OBDII (aka OBD2)

cheers
peter

ps, for those of you that dont know what OBD is: it is the Onboard Diagnostics port (OBD) which most modern cars have. It enables you to monitor, clear, and change some aspects of your ECU.
I have a lot of bookmarks about OBDII here and theres more out there!

Mine was up to date when I bought it, last summer... the dealer mentioned that it was the first VXX.X (sorry, I can't recall) he have seen.
I try the Horsepower trick, without good result.
I did double check, everything was correct in the setup.
Didn't try again since this day.

May be the version I have is not efficient enough (though Xgauge menu is available),
but I don't find any mention about the last firmaware
