Do the 1HD-T and 1HD-FT run the same turbo?

The part numbers between the 1HDT and 1HDFT turbo may well be different, but the differences depend even on country and are not significant. The compressor wheel at 43/65mm is the same on both. In Europe exhaust housings may be 17010 on exhaust housing on 1HDT and 17030 on 1HDFT and in Australia most are 58010 or 58020. It really makes little difference, and while you could be forgiven when driving a revvier 1HDFT that it must have a bigger or different spec turbo to the 1HDT (which has a livelier bottom end), the main contributing factor is the aneroid setings (boost compensator) which was set for better emissions in the 1HDFT and a little more boost on the 1HDFT.

Thanks gbentick.. so externally physically they will be identical? Same flange, outlets etc.. there would be no need to modify any plumbing? Should just bolt straight up?

1HDFT yes, 1HDFTE no.

Check the number on the exhaust housing though to ensure the same. Internally they should be identical.

But who would want the std offering? If you are not going to get it upgraded, make sure you dont pay much for it.

Is 1HDFTE come with CT26? or another setting or same internally or something
keen to know.

It depends on the year and country. Some came with a VNT that I really want to get my hands on :-)

Thank you for your info! Given example like country of Japan, what kind of Turbo is installed to FTE engine? Or Australia in your country, please.
