Hello all I am new to the forums..
I have a 97 LX450 for Sale located in San Antonio, Texas. SOLD
I recently bought the vehicle in GA. I brought it home to be able to take it out with the family and the wife was not too happy. We went back and forth and she did have a few points. We all did not fit in the vehicle comfortably 5 members in the family not to include 2 dogs. She was adamant that if we are going to go out for a few days as a family she wants to be comfortable on the way out and comfortable on the way back...she said she doesn't mind some discomfort while out there camping a 4 wheeling. My sons are a bit too big for the back seats as well. The wife said she would ride in a newer land cruiser though so I am on the hunt for a 100 series.
I bought the vehicle off a guy that had the vehicle and daily drove it for 10 years.
Here is the original ad:
1997 Lexus lx450. Same as toyota landcruiser. Very good condition with lots of extras. Old man emu lift, running 285 tires right now but have ran 315 with no scrubbing. Tmax 9000 winch. This has the factory lockers front and rear. Runs perfect, been my daily driver for 10 years. Just wanting something with better gas mileage.
After purchasing the vehicle I brought it back to Texas and went through it. This is what I found...
1997 Lexus LX450
Purchased 12/21/15 in Blue Ridge, GA
223xxx miles
factory lockers
OME suspension 3 inch
T Max 9000 Winch
Safari Snorkel
Wilderness Accessories Roof Rack
285 Hankook Discovery Tires
Custom front bumper
Custom rear bumper
Sliders welded to frame
Custom fender guards welded to the sliders from the front bumper
I am sure there are a few other things I might have missed but that was a quick run-through.
Here are a few things I have done. I haven't been able to do much due to a recent major hip surgery as I am still on crutches.
New Brake light fixed 12/28/15
Brake warning light fixed 12/28/15
Flat fixed 12/29/15 flat was due to the rim not being able to hold a bead put spare in its place
Painted 1 rim (drivers rear ) to match the others 1/1/16
Fixed intake tube it was torn in half 1/1/16 Hot glue and tape.. It was all I had at the time...
There is some surface rust on the rear diff, it has a couple of oil leaks but nothing major and smokes a little on start up.
If I was going to keep it I would do the Birffs, Distributor O-ring crank seal and oil pump cover gasket. According to the previous owner it leaked about a half a quart or less every 5000 miles. The vehicle has a check engine light, it needs an O2 sensor and the EGR modulator. That was what the codes read.
I am looking to order the O2 sensor as well as the EGR modulator soon. I will still be fixing little things the longer I have the vehicle. Gotta get off these crutches first... I am new to posting and the pic thing so please be patient... I have pics on my phone as well and can send them anytime just send me your email.
