Woody? Wagon, that is.

So the last four wheeler rag reminded me of this rig:

So my father is wrapping up his wood boat project, and I'll be done with Krusty in another year or three...........

And since he's rebuilt woodies before..................

Sorry for the sad photochops, but my version of a SWB, MWB and LWB woody that never existed..............

Wood doesn't rust..... This could be a win-win! I'd love to see a woody FJ.

There's a guy in DUxbury, MA that has a 40 turned into a woody. Looked very cool. He also had a refrigerator shelf for a grille on it. Not cool.

Jim,

That's cruel and unusual punishment fer not showin the rest of the Power Wagon pictures. I'd like to pick up a Power Wagon pickup of that vintage when I get some of the Cruiser projects moved along.

I know a guy with a couple 25 tubs that might part with a cowl, frame and old skool F motor for yer woody project.

Here's a page with the Power Wagon Woodies.

I kinda like the LWB version of my 25 with the square doors, I think the wheelbase would have to be 120" or so. I've seen homemade woodies on Jeeps they usually look pretty bad, especially with refridgerator parts used.

Very nice work there, I know I wouldn't have the patience to work with wood like that.

Dang! I've been thinking of this for years... I have a 79 pig that is very rusty, and the complete nose of 2 fj 40s. Wasn't sure whether to put the 40 nose on the pig frame, or just lengthen the frame of one of the 40s....Been a wood boat guy and woodworker all my life. Well for 35 years anyways.....Gotta finish my fj 45 LPB first. All of my decisions on the 40 donors has centered around keeping the stuff I need for the wagon. My plan has no glass, just roll up canvas sides, and wood posts all around. I already have plenty of stuff to drive in the winter.....and not a high gloss show car either, just a funky beater from old wood like my furniture.
