We are going to run something in the Payson area. Meeting at the Baja gas station about 9AM.

I might jump into this. Easy enough for my broken down rig to follow along Kevin?

If so, well then where is the Baja gas station?

I don't for see any problem, I haven't been on the trails that we are looking at, but according to the reports we are seeing they sound stocker friendly.

The Baja gas station is across from the casino on Beeline HWY, on the east side, a couple of miles north Shea Blvd.

once there was gas in the carb, the cruiser fired right up (it hadn't been driven since Cruise Moab)

Michael sucked some gas

You could have put this a little nicer, maybe somewhat along the lines of "Michael was priming the fuel pump..."

Please do me a favor and DONT post pictures, or tell stories of how great today was.

I was unable to make it and any enjoyment you all may have taken from this day is unacceptable by me.

I hope it was miserable and ya'll had as boring a day as myself.

Not really, but you can feel my pain.

Next time...

Back in town .

Just another day at the CSC office .

Some BS at Baja gas station, once in Payson we couldn't find the trail as usual, once we were on it, drove several spurs that became somewhat questionable (my GPS track looks like some kind of root system ), and after the cut a tire down, Juan lost confidence and left us to our own devices, and then the promised graded dirt road was an ATV trail that got us clobbered by brush big time. Crossed the East Verde at the Matzazal wilderness boundary, and put air back in the tires on the outskirts of Payson at dusk. Some Mexican food, great day, and great company, as always .

You missed out big time .

nope, suspect some glass/metal in the wash or on the trail

the area was littered real bad; we picked up what we could, even 6 full cans of Bud light in a box

as far as levitation: I got tire in the air in the first 15 minutes on the trail

"the area was littered real bad;" was limited to some camping areas, overall the trail was in pretty clean. Picked up a bag of trash, mostly beer cans and once again Budweiser is the king of litter, appears to be the choice of irresponsible AZ rednecks.

I had a great time, cool area, pretty much had the place to ourself, expected more traffic on a holiday weekend!

Near the river, there were a bunch of tiny frogs, maybe 3/4-1.5" long.

You din't see much traffic cos they were all up on the Rim with us. Took most of Fri afternoon to find a campsite that din't have 8 trucks in it.
But, on the bright side, we had better weather. Sprinkles each a.m. Thunder in the afternoon. Cold at night. It was awesome.
We din't do any actual wheeling, tho. Just wanted to camp and get out of the heat.
It took 4 hours to 101/202 from 260/FR300.
Less than 2.5 hours to get up the same hill.

Near there, started near Natural Bridge on 209, 1661, came out 209A/406. Went past Crackerjack Mine Road, but didn't run it.
