At some point before RED got blacklisted I smashed the aisin winch into a rock. I know the day and the trip. Result when I slipped on oil I did not expect and saw the split -0oops. Cannot replace or repair . so with the 24 volt / 12 volts transformer playing up and leaving me no air cond , no electric windows and no stereo I Was offered a god winch for a discount from an order not taken.

1 second later YES

Monday they pulled out old winch and intercooler
Tuesday give permission to cut cross member to allow the god winch shaft to fit
Wednesday theey realise intercooler too big for god winch has to go top mount
Friday the new god winch being fitted to new brackets

God winch is replacing pto shaft with prado diff ratio 4.88:1 aand custom shaft and drum and for mine approx 200' of 11mm steel cable

God comes ftom the speed as you cannot outrun one to get outtta the way. They are fast!!!!!! Video later when its finished . No need to use the drive axlr gears just use the engine and xfer case in neutral low range select 1,2,3,4th or 5th and go for it :)

Pics later tonite

Looking forward to see what you have done.....

Saturday to MOnday

Winch mounted and bull bar back in. The white bit is to be cut out (as Ah WHa says "cut fire")

A pic of the winch - yes its 12" in diameter and extra wide enough for 200' of 11mm steel wire. Prado front diff is the driver :)

Another view of the Winch

The intercooler too big to be top mount as it will be instant attraction to the vehicle inspection patrols - so cut the intercooler where the white line is and reinstall :)

2011-10-03_13.38.25_RED.jpg

Waiting for new long shaft (note its a drive shaft not a winch shaft ) to be made and then the intercooler to be cut - so another 4 days it will be after next weekend before its ready.

Well I have been a bit quiet lately - a few days after the last kayaking trip I was mucking around at work and fell over HARD (ok ok I was riding on a trolley and fell off) and split my head and ear open and gave myself slight concussion. 2 days later still had a headache so went to the docs at the insistance of my future wife - (PS im getting married 29 October) and I was sent to hospital straight away irregular heart beat - shocked - the cardio did not believe I was still alive after the kayking and loading up 2000 and then unloading 2000kg of water from the Volvo either . So 2 months rest - CAUSE - long hours of nite driving on the adventures and driving to the whitewater activites friday nite and late back sunday nites and no sleep and the stress (we look after 85 countries banking systems from our IT shop :( ) from the IT GEEK job .

So I took myself of white water rescues etc until I was cured

I have also been building the equipment shed (laying bricks and building steel frames) for my ATV's and white water stuff at the resort so no time for trips.

I am now fully recovered after 4 months (1 month to heal and 3 months rest) and the heart is back to 52 regular beats a minute and I am now allowed to be a white water guide again :)

More adventures coming.

looks like a huge ones .. more details on the winch :?

Yes more info on the winch please. If I'm understanding right it's an ifs front diff mounted to a custom drum and uses a pto as the power. Right? If so pretty freggin cool idea!

Yes correct custom drum made and shaft and pto shaft is cutdown drive shaft

Very very powerful needs 11mm steel or 16mm plasmA to run else it snaps real quick

you could haul fishing nets with that thing!

JUst for the record

RJ77 - (converted) 13B-T with 14B-T Fuel pump modified to run 21PSI TURBO only, modified 7M turbo, Intercooler, 14B-T timing gear, 12Volts, God WInch (being installed), 35" XT sneakers, SIDE steps, REAr step, Milford cargo barrier, modified air intake to twice the factory size, 3" exhaust, OEM Waste GAte. 1.5BAR BOOST (yes 21PSI) , DIesel DIFFS and DISCS all round.

Sitting on 140Kph is no issue on 33"s and neither is 35"s.

Video coming soon (with standard - I will find video of comp 8274 and GOD winch running together) trucks with GOD winches running.

GOD winch when it first was made in 2004 was HIDDEN from view and secret. Up to about 2 years ago a foreigner was not SOLD a god winch and the cost for a local was about $6500rm (2,000USD). I was offered one in 2007 for $10,000rm. I got mine for a special price way below the $6000rm :)

The mekanic cannot wait to see the BIG diesel pull the god winch as he has to run his 7M engine at 2000-3000rpm minimum to stop it stalling. im going to shock him and run it at idle or just off and see how it pulls RED along :)

I left work early friday on my way to the white water weekend work and called into the workshop in time to help the pakistani mekanic and the chinese mekanic with fitting back the intercooler and the hoses and the airbox.

Then they started cutting up my GRILL damn the only part of my car without a jungle DENT in it :( to wrap around the chopped and moved intercooler .

No pics sorry too busy getting black stuff on my hands.

It will be ready this week to fire up they waiting for the long shaft still.

AIR activated freespool moved from old winch to new GOD winch

Once all done its time for a winch video and off to the DYNO shop to see if the 13/4B-T really does push out more than 400nm of torque :) and then maybe a HOON video of a slightly wild 13B-T - ps speaking of which where is hultsy these days? Hope he didn't buy a pesky nISSAN.

PS im off to the RFC 2011 (Rainforest Challenge 2011) in December for 10 days - I have the misfortune of taking the mighty DEATHSTAR and RED along this year and I also have OZZIE press booked to tag long with me the K1W1 for the event. Now I gotta go stock up on more cheap beer. and the ozzies have sent two australian NISSANs to enter the event also

A saga story will no doubt follow this as I am doing video this year for a story on a white mans view of the RFC.

Almost finished only waiting for CABLE - today will buy and install

Rigid industries 10" LED light bar is next for the front.

video coming of the test runs after we install the cable this morning.

I only need to install a FRONT locker and I actually have the equivalent of a Malaysia 4x4 competition truck but just not the cut down body style here of the COMP trucks :)

A wolf in sheeps clothing :)

here little red riding hood hahaha.

WIth the god winch SELF recovery is fantastic - recovering another vehicle I need to use a Snatch block to slow it down :)

Note you cannot freespool it out it must be wound out in REVERSE else it birdsnests rapidly or jams the nextr time you wind the cable out.

Actually the mekaniks cannot wait to wind the cable on as this is the first DIESEL they have installed a GOD winch on all the others are 7M engines or a 4.5V8 (NIssan Chairman engine) into a ROCKSTAR - they know it will pull hard at idle or just above up to 2000rpm which they cannot do in the 7M and 1JZ engines. The V8 powered ROCKSTAR does it all at idle so much grunt.

DRUm is 12" wide and 12" in Diameter :) and the spool is 3" in diameter all the components custom made from the DIFF to the end of the PTO and the PTO shaft also a cut down 4x4 long shaft.
