For Sale 1993 FZJ-80 Locked and lifted in SoCal

The fiance and I made the decision to drive to Tierra del Fuego later this year and are selling everything we own to do the trip, including my beloved 80. The opportunity to do this came up rather suddenly and unfortunately about a month after I spent nearly $5k on regearing and new tires. Oh well, live and learn.

The good:
Completely rebuilt e-locker axles with Nitro 5.29s, all new bearings in the knuckles, new Marlin HD seals (I have new factory seals that come with it), new brakes, birfs rotated and repacked, etc. These axles are as new as they get. All bearings are either Toyota or Koyo.
(5) 37" BFG KM2s on 17" Tundra/Sequoia alloys with about 2000 miles on them,
ARB front winch bumper
Custom rear bumper with single swingaway tire carrier
OME J springs with a trim spacer up front
Rancho RS9000s all around
Head gasket replaced by PO
PHH replaced with the fancy blue silicon hose and those space age clamps
New power steering pump (OEM)
Rebuilt power steering box about 2000 miles ago
Rebuilt 2.2kw starter about 5000 miles ago
All new TREs (Made in Japan 555 brand)
New radiator, thermostat, belts, hoses, etc. (Spare belts and hoses included)
Die Hard Platinum Group 31 (75lb monster, ~1100 CCA)
Tradesman full length roof rack
All fluids swapped in the last few thousand miles, Mobil 1 High Mileage is the only oil this engine has ever seen since I've owned it.
Seats are surprisingly decent (all 3 rows). Only one small tear on the front and I'll see about getting that fixed. The pics are with the old seats in it. I'll get some pics of the new seats when I buy a camera.
AC blows ice cold and both heaters work great!
No rust!

The bad
284k miles (seems like a lot but with the maintenance and baselining done the truck runs like a top and is ready to go 200k more miles).
Couple small dings and dents
Some scrapes on the back left flare
Couple minor leaks but considering the age of the truck they're very minor.

Extas
(5) 37" BFG ATs on 17" Tundra/Sequoia alloys with about 25% tread left
Some pre bent tube to make your own sliders with (got them from the PO)

So why not take this to TDF? I just might if I can trade away the axles and tires for stockers. As it sits it's just a bit too conspicuous for that trip and finding 37's in South America would probably be prohibitively expensive. Plus, selling this and getting a cheap 4runner beater gives us more money to travel.

I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I took to Baja a couple weeks ago and went exploring by myself in the deserts west of San Felipe. If I didn't have full confidence in the truck I wouldn't have taken it. Out there if your truck breaks, you walk.

The cruiser is located in Redlands, CA and I'm asking $8,900 OBO.

The only trades I would consider are a 4cyl 4runner 4x4 plus cash on your end or a 100 series plus cash on my end. I can have it shipped anywhere you want upon the payment clearing.

Thanks,
Matt

Bump for you Matt. This 80 fueled the fire for me. I drove it before the re-gearing and other maint performed and wanted an 80 even more. Someone buy this rig!

I have stock(ish) axles on my '93, completely rebuilt knuckles (retained old birfs), Aussie locker in the rear. I would love to trade, mainly for the 5.29s, but I realize that it would not be an even (value for value) trade; but if you are willing, the offer is out there for you to consider.

Sold!

I agree, so I just sent Matt the funds ;) Matt's shopping for his next trip rig now in LA so as long as the trucker who ends up carrying this beast to me doesn't fall asleep at the wheel, it should be a happy ending for all.
